NO reduction by CO under oxidative conditions over CoCuAl mixed oxides derived from hydrotalcite-like compounds: Effect of water

Oxyfuel combustion is a promising technology to produce CO2 rich effluents. Nevertheless, storage as well valorization steps require increase the purity of these effluents due presence CO and NOx produced during process. In view development transition metal-based catalyst for this application, cobalt and/or copper derived hydrotalcite materials were used precursor oxide NO-CO abatement in gas stream similar those obtained when an oxyfuel performed. Hydrotalcite precursors catalysts characterized by several techniques. The best catalytic performances are with cobalt-aluminum mixed catalyst. impact water was also investigated following trends obtained: (i) decrease activity NO oxidation while no modification observed oxidation; (ii) shift towards higher temperature reduction maintaining same yield; (iii) improved stability time on stream.
